Back pain is a common problem and many patients have X-rays and scans which offer scary results, like degeneration, spondylosis, disc bulges, pinched nerves and bone-on-bone arthritis. Many of these are natural changes of ageing. With each decade of life, these changes become more prevalent. We refer to them as “wrinkles on the inside”. Unless you have sustained major trauma, most of these conditions do not require surgery. Most low back and neck pain responds well to physiotherapy. Your physiotherapist is well trained in assessing for severe problems, which may need referral to a neurosurgeon.

Physiotherapy will include mobilisation of the spine, massage and mobilisation of the soft tissues and nerves, and exercises. Advice on lifestyle changes is also given. So please don’t hesitate to contact us for treatment of your neck and back problems.
