As winter is upon us, we urge you to keep active and maintain a healthy lifestyle for multiple benefits.
It is essential to keep moving and doing regular exercise even though the days are cold and very much shorter. We advise that you change the time of day that you go for a walk or run, trying to fit it in at lunch-time, or late afternoon before the temperatures drop too much. 150 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended (walking is fine).
You also need to keep up your water intake even though you may not feel as thirsty as in summer. Try and stick to healthy foods and limit comfort foods that tend to increase your weight over the winter months. Remember that alcohol and smoking also affect your wellbeing, and should be managed effectively.
